Civil Turmoil and Psychological Warfare

Current Buzz on social media is the consistent use of fireworks in metropolitan areas — disturbing the peace — and residents are not happy.

City residents have taken to social media platforms disapproving of the consistent use of fireworks in their cities late at night. From 8 o’clock in the evening until 3 o’clock in the morning cities like New York City, Jersey City, Detroit, and Oakland have experienced abnormal fireworks in their communities. Example being — New York City residents have alluded to their authorities organizing an operation to disturb communities without a conclusion as to why besides maintaining control of the city and reinforcing dependence on law enforcement. Across the nation, the “not your average joe” fireworks issue has been repeated by citizens with awfully general statements by City Officials.

Brooklyn Burrough President, Eric Adams, released a statement encouraging Brooklyn residents to not call 9–1–1 about fireworks — saying, “go talk to your young people or the people on your block who are using fireworks”— finalizing his statements with, “This is a nonviolent act. So those three numbers that we all dial, 911, get over that” (Sources: New York Post); later, New York City mayor, Bill De Blasio released a plan-of-action statement foretelling the use of Sting operations

Video-oriented app — TikTok — and Twitter has been the main vehicle of awareness and communication about this current issue as city officials downplay the events; and mainstream media channels give it seldom attention.

One of many quick informative videos showing the misuse and abuse of power by city officials and local authorities

American citizens across the country are complaining about rampant fireworks. This issue is becoming cancerous — and by the time mainstream media and city officials are ready to discuss the issue, city residents across the country will be tired. They will have a muzzle on their mouths and a cloud over their heads in mental defeat because of weeks of sleep deprivation and conditioning to loud explosions every night. Citizens have proactively protested systemic and systematic racism for over 3 weeks since the murder of George Floyd.

Organizations in our country have racist figureheads and background; and their practices reflect the authorities; however, one can be addressed easier.

If the rampant use of fireworks and public disturbance by Police forces — mixed with the square dancing of City Officials and Mainstream Newsrooms continues; I see a lot of angry residents getting angrier. . .

Definitely not average [fireworks]; For sure some professional help. . . They are like Disney Fireworks, I believe it’s a form of sleep deprivation, a way to keep us anxious, fatigued, and super neurotic.

Even in less active areas, city resident such as Jane from Baltimore have said:

They were shooting at 11 am this morning. At this point I refuse to believe that they are citizens doing this because NOBODY young or old will wake up at 11:00 to shoot off fireworks that are barely visible in the sunlight. It makes no sense and I really think that the local station is shooting fireworks or explosives to rile up the community by ridding them of no sleep. People in this community especially have PTSD when it comes to sounds of shots or large explosives.

We have to ask ourselves: is this our community overly excited for the summertime or a response to protesters?
